Baxters Loan, Dunblane
It was a cold blustery day today. I donned my water proofs and headed up the Old Doune Road along Baxters Loan
Its part of the Mary Queen of Scots Way
Its a good path along here. I was surprised it wasn't wetter
It was hard to make out Dumyat in the distance

Sheriffmuir Big Wood
I parked just off the Sherriffmuir Road past Stonehill and walked into the Big Wood
I found this pair of shoes in the woods. I wonder what their story is?
There were a few spots of rain.
It was so peaceful and quiet which I loved
I wonder what this lichen is?

Stockbridge to Kilbryde Chapel
A busy day at work today so had to wait till evening to walk. I decided on an area near Dunblane. I parked near the Garden Centre by Stockbridge
The willow herb is turning to seed but it was a bight colour
This old railway line is part of the Mary Queen of Scots Way. I was just checking if it's possible to walk on it but there is not much of a path.
It was a damp evening but so good to be out in the fresh air
These Daisy's were colourful
This is Kilbyde Castle's Chapel. Its seats about 65 people. They still do wedding's here
These calves in the field beside the chapel came racing over to see me. I was glad there was a fence between us
They stood in a line watching me walk round the building
When I returned to the gate they followed me down all the way. They were so funny.

Black Hill, Pendreich, Sheriffmuir
I took the Sheriffmuir Road home tonight and stopped at the Pendreich Wood Car park. I have driven past here on numerous occasions and have meant to explore before now. That's why I love this decision to walk everyday as I'm doing all these walks I've been meaning to.
It was raining slightly
Excellent mushrooms
This is a rain drop..............
The light in the wood was lovely. The orange lichen was a strong colour. Quite a few of the trees had it growing on one side of the bark
I returned to the car park and was greeted with this beautiful picture of the light through the trees. There were so many paths in the woods but I wanted to explore another track from the car park
This looked an interesting path.
The mist swirling around the trees looked stunning
This was a small gap in the trees looking over Stirling
I continued walking for about 15 minutes but did not reach the top of the hill. I was hungry and needed home for my tea
Great views on the way down over Dumyat

Loch Leven - the Pier to St Mary's Knowe
Raining today. I mean really raining. We had planned to go across to the island but we decided to leave if for another day.
We headed around the loch and the rain eased off a bit
It was difficult to take photos as I was worried the camera would get wet, The board walk took us to Kirkgate Park
The Watch Tower
The island where Mary Queen of Scots was held captive
The elaborate Fish Gate entrance to Kinross House
On the return the rain had stopped and the view of the island was better
