Well! this is a walk I never thought I would ever do. Its such a long walk but I felt ready for it today. We did it in an anti clock wise direction.

 

 

This part of the walk was fine. Quite easy at this stage

 

 

 

This kind of walk, is me in my element. Being in the middle of nowhere with a clear path in front of me.

 

 

I was starting to get a wee bit weary at this stage and was looking forwards to getting to the high point.

 

 

Yes made it.! It will be all down hill now.

 

The lovely Sally who is sooooo patient with me walking so slowly and moaning at the up hill bits!

How wrong was I thinking it was going to be easy from now on. It was up and down. up and down. Quite exhausting

 

 

We lay down in the grass for a wee rest

 

 

It took us 9 hours. I was so proud of myself. It was a fantastic walk

 

Butterfly Walk- Sherrifmuir

I went Blae Berry picking to the Gathering Stone at Sherriffmuir with Sally. We got masses of berries and saw masses of Butterflies

Sheriffmuir to Dunblane plus Capercaillie in the evening in Glasgow

I was feeling really agitated  in the house with my eye becoming foggier and foggier as the cataract grew. It was in the very centre of my right eye. My left eye is very lazy and I have limited vision in it hence the difficulty doing anything around the house.

Pete kindly took me to Sherrifmuir above Dunblane so I could have a long walk home

 

Its such an amazing walk. I've walked along part of it but never all the way home

 

 

I could just about make out the Sheriffmuir Inn in in the distance. This was where I had my celebration for my last walk of the year in 2013 when I had a different walk every day.

 

 

I passed The MacRae Monument from the Battle of Sheriffmuir

 

 

I have never see so many butterflies on a walk as I did today. I lost count there were so many

 

 

This cat was sitting so close to the road side I thought it would get run over. It didn't budge when the cars went past.

 

 

I was sad when the walk was finished. It was 4 miles but I had Capercaillie to look forward too in the evening at the Kelvingrove Amphitheatre. I used to go there when I was a teenager on a Sunday afternoon to watch the free bands

Dunblane West

A lovely sunny day and I headed out towards Kilbryde from my home in Dunblane. Even though my eye sight is still poor I noticed this caterpillar on the path

 

Oh how I love butterflies

 

 

Its so nice to be out in the sunshine. Even with limited sight

 

 

The walk goes under the old railway bridge from Doune to Dunblane. I hear they are hoping to open this as a walk in the future. I'll be happy.
