Callander to Strathyre

Continuing walking between Dunblane and Killin I got a lift from Bernie to Strathyre. She started work at the school and I set off towards the old railway path.

It was such an incredible day weather wise and I was so happy with the prospect of a long walk in front of me. My eye was very misty but I knew the photos were going to be good.

I'm sure this sign is not correct. It was more like a mile and a half to Callander from here

Doune to Callendar

I decided to walk all the way to Callander from Doune today. I had already walked from Doune to Dunblane and I thought I might, with a bit of organisation and help from Pete walk all the way up to Killin in stages, as I have a lot of time on my hands over the next few weeks being off work waiting for my cataract operation. I had to walk beside the road for a short while.

past the Antique Centre

Ah!  this was the sign I was looking for. Its a wee back road from Doune
The weather forecast was terrible this day. I had friends phoning me who were stuck in a hotel up North as the road was flooded. I was lucky and had great walk with only slight rain and wind.It was about 8 miles and took about 3 hours,  Pete came to collect me in Callander and I started to plan the next stage of my Long Walk.

The Darn Walk

Well it's no good moping round the house just because I can't see too good. Pete dropped me off in Bridge of Allan and told me to walk home. So I walked the Darn Walk.

Edinburgh Airport then Newton Bridge

I went to see my daughter off on holiday at the airport with one of my sons, Lawrence, and had a ride on the tram.

Such a contrast between town and country. I love Scotland.
