Auchinlay Road, Dunblane

A walk along the Auchinlay Road and a climb up the hill. Is that a new pylon that I see?

 

 

Dumyat which I didn't climb last year. I'm still avoiding big hills

 

The football pitch on the Leighills looks a fantastic colour

Dunblane by the river

A little walk in Dunblane today. This is the old Stirling Arms which has been renovated into the Riverside

 

I  took the walk beside the river

 

 

past the old gas works

 

 

This is a stone to mark the Bleaching Green

 

Other villages have a Drying Green but ours is a bleaching Green

 

 

One clothes pole left

 

 

The path beside the river is closed due to subsidence

 

Dunblane Golf Course

We took the steep steps up to Dunblane Golf course

 

and then walked up the side of the course

 

 

Beautiful views

 

These Dunblane Houses must have a great  view over here

 

Once again we were lucky with the weather

 

We headed up into the woods. A lot of trees have been taken down since I was last here

 

We weren't able to continue to Glen Road as the path was blocked.

 

Think we were getting home at the right time. The sky was looking dark as we came over the rail bridge

Pendreich Road to Cocksburn Reservoir

I parked in Pendreich Road today and took the forest path

 

These fungi were massive

They are so wonderful especially close up. I must go on a fungus course and learn more about them

I headed up to have a look at the reservoir

There is a path right round the reservoir but I was on my lunch break so will leave for another day

Back at the road, this is the view of Dunblane and the North which greeted me

The Touch Hills

 

The Andy Murray Walk

A walk round Dunblane today where Andy Murray was brought up. We started at the primary school and headed down to the river and over the Faery Bridge

We passed the Community Garden looking good thanks to all the hard work of the Dunblane Community Trust

under the railway bridge

past the Cathedral and this impressive door

passed the Dunblane Museum

To the Gold Post Box

Does Andy train on cow pies like Desperate Dan? This is the window at Bennets the Butcher.

The High Street shops were full of Good Luck wishes to him

His families Optometrists

 

 

And of course the Dunblane Tennis Club which was really busy
