East Lomond Car Park, Lomond Hills

I headed for my first walk in the Lomond Hills. I got the walk from a great book by Suzie Allison called Scottish Trail Running. I'm not a runner but I'm going to walk some of them

 

 

I parked in the East Lomond Car Park and headed on this path

 

 

This is Glenrothes. On a clear day the views must be fantastic

 

 

There was a smattering of snow on the path

 

 

 

The weather started clearing and the sun came out

 

The toilets weren't open. Are only open in the summer?

 

The Kennet Estate and the Tolbooth, Clackmannan

I've been meaning to do this walk for a while. This is the ancient village of Clackmannan. This is the Stone or "Clack" found beside the Tolbooth

I headed down Main Street and into Castle Street towards the Kennet Estate

I took the path through the woods

I heard a dog bark and suddenly a deer rushed down the bank to the right of me almost knocking me over. We both got such a fright

The weather forecast today was warnings of heavy rain coming from the west. I wasn't happy but took myself to the east coast to the village of Limekilns............

It was lovely, no rain in sight. I could see the Forth Road and Rail Bridges

The day was really warm. I had to carry my coat and woolly jumper and just walked in my t-shirt which I did not expect

I thought this was an interesting sign Its a Fife Council initiative to encouraging people to walk. I'm all for that

Cambuskenneth to Manor Powis

This is a lunch time walk I have never done. Cambuskenneth to Manor Powis

The path was a bit overgrown so I soon found it easier on the field

The path continued through this field but I'm not sure of horses so I turned back reluctantly.
