Airth

I found this walk in a leaflet produced by Falkirk Council. This is where the walk starts. The original harbour came up to this point before the land was reclaimed in the 1700's.

The Captain's House

More Captain's Houses built in the 1700's

The Mercat Cross (Scots for Market) one of the oldest structures in the village dated from 1697. There is an older cross in the village called the Headless Cross.
The Elphinstone Inn, behind it dates back to the early 19th Century

A bit misty today looking towards the Forth

The weather was dry. The mist was lifting as I walked

The Headless Cross. Wonder how old it is?

Airth Castle which is now a Hotel
There is a Medieval Church next to the castle. The Graham family built a new church to encourage the villagers to move away from them down the hill!!!!

The path goes past the castle and down into Letham Wood
