Hogganfield Loch, Glasgow

A blast from the past with a visit to Hogganfield Loch. We used to visit the loch when I was little. Apart from the swans I can't remember much about it.

I was informed by my walking companions boats used to be for hire here and were tied up on the island overnight to keep them safe.

Bird life on the loch was busy. We saw Heron, Grebe, Swans, Cormorants, Mallards, Coots, Moorhens and many more

We walked right round the loch. Its was just over a mile. Great place to come with small children. Easy parking, beach and playpark.

We took the opportunity to visit Andy Scott's Heavy Horse Statue on the M8 between Edinburgh and Glasgow. His Kelpies on the M9 are almost complete and look fantastic. They are 100ft high. The Helix will be opening this month. Hope to walk there soon.
