Johnnies Burn to Touch Hills

It was hot today as I headed towards the Touch Hill near Cambusbarron Stirling. The horses were sheltering under the trees swishing their tails

Not sure what this old house was. I will try and find out

The light in the wood was amazing

I think this is a Ringlet. I will confirm with Shona at the Butterfly Conservation Society

I had to stop here as lunch time was over but the path continues up to the hills

When I turned back the views were amazing. A bit hazy because it was so hot. Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument can be seen but not clear.

  1. Hi, Thanks for your wonderful photos and ideas for walks. I am staying in Stirling towards the end of August while my husband attends a conference and hope to be able to see some of these lovely sites.

    Thanks again
