Alloa Tower

With my mind still up in Wester Ross, I decided to go to Alloa today and visit The Tower. Alloa Tower was the ancestral home of the Erskine Family and dates from the 14th Century. It retains its original timber roof and battlement's and is one of the  earliest and largest of Scottish tower houses. This is some wonderful art near the entrance.

I set off to walk to Clackmannan Tower

I ended up following the wrong path and going through Mary Wood towards Clackmannan. I decided to leave the other tower to another day.

This is the Black Devon Bridge

One of my pet hates is people not clearing up after their dogs. I especially dislike it when the full bags are hung on trees. Ben Fogle was talking about it on the radio yesterday and said the problem is getting worse which surprises me.  I think I'll join his campaign.
