Chartershall to Whins of Milton

Today a lovely walk at Chartershall towards Whins of Milton

The Mill Lade was covered with Marsh Marigolds

This is the new Bannockburn Visitors Centre being specially built for the 1314 celebrations

  3. I have been collecting walks for years. Some of the walks are from The Stirling Council Community Walk Leaflets which are free. I work 4 days a week in Stirling so on those days I walk near my clients. I encourage them to walk so I sometimes have a walking buddy.
I LOVE maps. I read them like other people read books. I also LOVE Scotland. I love all the parts of Britain I have visited but I suppose I know Scotland well. I live in Dunblane which is really pretty and is in a great position to get to other areas.
My husband Pete puts the photos in the blog for me. He goes Scuba diving with our son Alex hence the trips over to the west coast. Another one this weekend so watch the blog. And thank you for your kind words of support.

  4. Thank you for replying. I do know many of the more local walks as I have two dogs and have lived in Stirling, Callander and now near to Gartmorn Dam. What amazes me is the effort you put in to discovering the unknown parts of places that I did not know existed and you take super photographs. You really have inspired me to be a little more adventurous and although my full-time job is very restricting, I hope one day to have more time to follow more paths like you. Many thanks.

  5. Hi, As always I'm enjoying your blog and wish I had the time/motivation to do it myself. Minor historical point on the Bannockburn celebrations which will mark the Scottish Victory of 1314. :) G
