We walked through Strathyre and took the circular walk thinking to do the three miles at the usual leisurely pace. Unfortunately there is a bridge to cross and it is looking decidedly unsafe so we thought retreat was a better option at that point. However it was still nice and we felt like we had walked enough. Not the bright sunshine of the last few weeks but clear and dry and still felt warm. Nice small village but sad to see two hotels are shut, one for sale and another looking the worse for wear. Not suffering the best of economic fortunes. We found the Rob Roy walk but there was a lack of signposting for it in the village. We'll go back and try some of it another day.

Mid Balvaig Path, Strathyre

Last time we were in the area, we found the path as overgrown as you describe. Now (autumn 2015) - what a difference! Path is wide, well-surfaced with new gates, fences and signposts. It's already popular with cyclists, hikers, dogwalkers, families - local and visitors alike. It's a real bonus to the vilage, and links to the NCN7 and a new cafe (the Broch) on the southern outskirts, making for a lovely walk opportunity. Highly recommended.
